Dear Alumni and Friends of St. Paul Lutheran School,

As this is being written over Thanksgiving break, we realize how blessed we continue to be – an awesome God, supportive alumni, faithful church members, a fine teaching staff, and inquisitive students.
Our enrollment is 97, the same as it was at this time last year.

We hosted a Gospel choir concert on October 20. Recent alumni joined their voices with those of our current choir. It was a wonderful evening of praise to God and renewal of friendships. The evening was put together by our music teacher and Gospel choir director, Marquita Dixon, a 2000 graduate of St. Paul.

The next day we had an alumni basketball game. About 16 of our alumni came to support St. Paul and play along with current members of our basketball teams. Like the concert, it provided good Christian fellowship and a renewal of friendships.

Our annual Children’s Christmas program will take place on Sunday, December 17, at 6 PM. This year’s program is entitled “Dateline: Christmas.” The story of our Savior’s birth will be presented as a news broadcast with anchorpersons telling the story and reporters interviewing Biblical characters. A wide assortment of songs will enrich the evening. If you’re in the area, please come.

We are still awaiting an insurance settlement before we can proceed with the renovation of the preschool room (formerly the library) after the damage caused by the water main break last January.

We were pleased to have two alumni from the class of 1951 visit us a few days ago. Roger Moritz and his twin sister, Carol Henning, stopped by to see their old school. Roger and his wife live in St. George, Utah, and Carol lives in Lombard, Illinois. It is always a delight to have alumni come back to St. Paul and share their memories.
